2 months agowhat am amazing place!!! We were here for Girl Scout camp and it was a blast! The instructions were extremely well trained. The facility was clean and well kept. The canoeing lifeguard was proactive and was in the water with the group the entire time. We definitely had an amazing time and looking forward it again next year!
Secret Shopper
9 months agoI didn't realize there were multiple buildings on site. Today my destination was the retreat building which is reached by taking an immediate left upon entrance of campgrounds. The street was easy for me to miss and I ended up going down to the main camp.

a year agoBow n arrow were super fun, loved hiking but might wanna pack waters and something to eat. There is no food provided, if you have kids it would be a great experience for them to get out into the wild while being completely safe with the nice workers there and you can even go with them.
Blue Ribbon
a year agoThis location has been a summer camp tradition for our family for many years. You can trust the staff with your children here at YMCA Camp Carter. The staff constantly practice safety protocols with each child and create a fun, age appropriate environment. Bayleigh and Robley are very quick to respond to any questions/concerns and the camp leaders are very respectful to both the children and parents. We will continue to recommend YMCA Camp Carter.

4 years agoThe minute me and my clan enter the gates of this place, no matter how old, we become little boy scouts. This place is well placed, tucked away in the city but not of the city feel. Once you are here, the staff are very helpful in setting you up, then stepping out of the way to let you do your thing. Zipline, low ropes course, tower wall climbing, archery, hiking, fishing, canoeing, high and smores over a campfire at night...the best. Great for a quick father/son day outing, birthday, or weekend getaway. This place has cabin space to rent, a few different sized indoor halls & meeting areas for corporate & church functions, college groups, family reunions. Spring is best for recreational reasons if you ask me. The only negative is getting a hold of someone to get set up, other than that...Fantastic place
