a week agoMy child is in the aftercare program at her school & we are having an issue with the director for the 2nd time this year. I have sent emails & made phone calls to speak to someone who can help me resolve this issue and have yet to receive a response. No one has reached out toe via email or phone. Who can I call??

a month agoI would give 0 if I was able. There was an incident regarding my child and another child. It was an incident that involved pulling my daughter’s pants down. The YMCA has it in their policy that they are not going to call if something like that happens. They will tell the person picking up and that person is responsible for relaying the information. My daughter’s father and I do not have an amicable relationship so that is not an option. So for anyone using the YMCA afterschool, you should know, I was not made aware that this even happened until I was told Sunday NIGHT by my child’s father. I am going to the school board because this “policy” is absurd. In today’s time, I want to know if my child so much as bumps her knee.

2 months agoI would give them 0 if I could. Do not take your child with special needs here. They do not have the capability to care for children with different abilities even though they claim they are able to.

a month agoHad a family membership for 15 years. Going to cancel it. Why? We can use any Y when we travel. Except for Bartlett. You have to be a resident. Ridiculous its closer to any other Y. Why does Bartlett got to call it a YMCA if members aren’t welcome? It’s complete utter bullshit

8 months agoMy child goes to aftercare at her school due to my work schedule. And I put her in summer camp back in 2023. Both experiences have been not so great. When she went to summer camp, my child told me that the employees were making them sleep on chairs and the floor with nothing. Now, that’s just uncalled for. You pay all this money for that?! Um no! Now the aftercare is disorganized. Most of the time I go to the school to get my child, I sign out and have to wait for an employee to call for my child because they are too busy talking to another parent. I don’t want to wait 10 mins to get my child. And then they want ask for your I.D every other day and not everyday. I called them out on it, and the guy said 9 times out of 10 you have your badge on. No, you just want to pick and choose when to ask for it because I’ve noticed some days when they don’t ask at all even I don’t even have my badge on. Like, I would rather you follow protocol and just ask for my ID, like you should! They don’t seem to watch the kids either, all you can hear is kids cursing other kids out. I give my child a couple of dollars to buy snacks and she said some girl at ycare keeps trying to steal her money. Yeah, no. I don’t like that I have to use this service for my child’s aftercare but oh well. I wish y’all would just train your employees right!
